The Devouring Gray by C.L. Herman

dark mysterious medium-paced

2.0

What if Vampire Diaries had no Vampires and was also really boring was a question nobody needed answering, and I honestly should have quit this book way sooner. With multiple POVs, I felt thrown into the story and had to fight to piece together the past events.

Most of the characters are barely on speaking terms due to said past events, and they were very reluctant to give up the reasoning, which just made the story even more confusing. I loved new girl Violet at times, but her character seemed to warp and change according to who was perceiving her.

I won't be continuing this series, because it gave me nothing. It was just lacking so much depth and I didn't know why it was written in such a confusing manner, jumping through POVs oaragraph after paragraph, rather than characters having established chapters.
