SJM does it again. I didn't think I could fall in love with these characters even more, but then I had to read ACOWAR. While ACOMAF focuses more on Feyre & her relationship with Rhysand and his court, ACOWAR really ups the politics of Pythian. It was really cool to see Feyre step up as High Lady of the Night Court, & help Rhyland rally the other High Lords & their courts to fight against Hybern.
SJM also makes you feel for Elain & Nesta, and the angst of wanting them to accept their mates. You really feel for all the men as well honestly (besides Tamlin, f that guy). Speaking of Tamlin, Feyre as a spy & dismantling the army of the Spring Court was crazy. Great job for her for rallying Tamlin's army against him, but unfortunate that it had to bite them in the butt when they needed it for the war against Hybern.
The war... I was crying for like 50 pages in a row because of that damn war. I cannot believe how many people died (although I really shouldn't be surprised, it's war. Just because you love a character doesn't mean they will all live happily ever after). This one was painful to read, but heartbreak painful. It really had me thinking what would I do if I lost my own loved ones in the same way these characters did. It made me love SJM and her writing that much more because I am not a fairy nor am I essentially a queen leading her people to war.
Would I re-read? Definitely. I don't normally re-read but since I read the Kindle edition first I would absolutely love to re-read a physical copy so I can annotate
Will I continue the series? I would rather die than DNF this series
Please do yourself a favor, if you've made it this far then you have to keep going
