The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik
4.0
Honestly, almost a 5 star for me.
This book was such an amazing conclusion to this trilogy.
I cared so much for the characters by the time I even started this book and that only grew as I continued this series. There were multiple times I found myself unable to put this book down and felt real fear/anxiety for the characters.
The story itself and how the magic is explained/described is breath taking. It is deep and intricate weavings of a very complex idea of how magic works. It is a fickle thing. It was incredibly enjoyable to not have any idea what was coming next nor how it would happen.
HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend for dark academia readers.
side note: "wanker" is such a funny word.
