For some strange reason, I have struggled with fantasy books in the past and when I picked this up via audio, I didn’t think it was going to be different. As it was part of a challenge I was participating in, I had to pick it up when I failed at an attempt to read a book of a similar genre.
Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
This book was rich in character development and the plot was very interesting. It brought out the importance of culture but also the need for proper interpretation of societal norms and beliefs.
As I was listening to this book, I felt engrossed, like I had been transported to their land and was helping them on the hunt for dragonfruit.
This ending of this book left me happy with a hope for more and an area for my interpretation to take over and finish the rest of the story.
Would highly recommend.
