Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
5.0
This book is truly a masterpiece. The characters, while almost entirely unlikable, are fascinating to read and the beauty is the writing can’t be ignored. A perfect blend of history, nostalgia, melancholy, and drama. I enjoyed it all, and the ending wrecked me.
That being said—this book is racist and it’s depictions of Black people in the South are deeply problematic.
