I am excited to be listening to more of Levar Burton’s short story narrations and expanding my short story and science fiction repertoire. This one didn’t quite grip me, though. I had a hard time feeling immersed in the world and understanding the different dynamics at play between the aliens and the assassins. The parallels to a Chinese society felt quite apparent to me, which reminded me of Babel, particularly with the sense of destruction and imminent death.
