At first it just felt like another spooky middle grade but this actually turned pretty dark and sinister and I loved that. I didn't think it was going to go beyond some weird faces or sounds but oh my... Those descriptions and the art in the book are nightmare fuel. I have an irrational fear of scarecrows so Mr. Sackhead will live rent free in my head. I do think more meat could've been added to the story, like when the friends decided to end the weird stuff once and for all, but it was a fun time.
