It took me about halfway through this book to really get into it and once you hit that halfway mark, things really pick up with the plot. August and Jane are really cute, their chemistry is believable and they have great banter. But what really makes this book are the side characters. First of all, there are a ton of side characters, all of which have great personalities and add to the heart of the story. I love the queer representation in this book and their environment really felt like a safe space for anyone to be who they are.
I feel like the main reason I couldn’t get into this book was because there were some scenes that were so overly descriptive I felt like I was there, but there were other scenes that were so vague I barely knew what the characters were doing. Also as someone who doesn’t like in a city with subways/accessible public transportation, I was really confused on the set up of the subway/the tracks/and how emergency exits work lol.
