Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

This book made me angry and sad. There is so much lost human potential because no one seriously considered to eat soy instead of people.
I instially thought that the book is a commentary on industrialized meat production, and not a subtle one at that. And it is, but as it progresses it becomes more than just that. It chronicles what could happen when people lose their sense of compassion. It's more than a detailed account of a cannibalistic society, it's an account of a society that has stopped seeing people as people.
