Life's Too Short by Abby Jimenez

5.0

OMG!

I found Jimenez's books last year while we were actually off getting married because I mean who doesn't stop at a bookstore wherever you go? I definitely enjoyed both books but I really liked the second book more than the first book and I'm not sure if it was because I read them out of order or that I actually read the second one and listened to the first one. However, they have all been dethroned! This third book in this 'series' is definitely my new favorite. So this book did something that was a bit different in the series so far and I was honestly really curious about how it was going to do it in this book. In the first two books, we follow two sisters so we got to see each other in both of the first two books even though we focused on one sister at a time. Towards the end of the second book we got a glimpse of Adrian however, he wasn't a big player in the book like the sisters were. So I was curious about how these characters were going to mingle because Adrian didn't really have a big moment in the second book. So I was right the first two book characters didn't really show up in this book as they did in the first two. I'm really curious about who the next book (if there is one) is going to focus on. I feel like it is either going to be focused on Adrian's assistant or the Yoga Girl because they both showed up in this book a lot and if we do focus on them I feel like we could potentially see Adrian and Vanessa in that book and I LOVED THESE TWO!

This book isn't perfect I know but I LOVED it! We switched perspectives between Adrian and Vanessa and I loved every second of it. Vanessa's life is a complete mess and the only thing I think I might have changed is that we would've seen more of Vanessa's travel vlog side. We do have moments where she talks about it and does some things with it. She does have a ton of other things on her plate so I get why that isn't her focus in this whole book. I'm just in that vibe to read about characters that have jobs like that. Adrian is kind of the complete opposite of Vanessa. We start the book and it seems like he has his whole life figured out. He has a very demanding job, he has a girlfriend that he pretty much adores, and just seemed like he had it all figured out. But then their lives kind of switch as we read. Adrian's life implodes while Vanessa pretty much gets her life all figured out. This book was such a quick read as well because I just couldn't walk away from the book. I think overall I really loved the book. Again the ending was kind of meh because of the time jump, and I do feel like the instalove doesn't feel like instalove until they start talking bout the actual timeline of the book and it's like all this happened in like a month, two tops!?
