Such a fine conceptual conceit, and so very little of any great note done with it. Reading the Christmas books in sequence, I think, was not a very good idea. They're ill-distinguished in such close proximity. Can't say much more than I've said already: sweet and simple sentiments that likely meant much more to a contemporary audience than they ever really could to us now. Not hanging around here for anything but the language.
