Vengeful by V.E. Schwab
4.0
2024: Vicious is the star of this series but Vengeful eats as well!!
2023: I’m screaming to the book gods like I’m distraught. I loved this duology so much. I can’t even describe how much pure adrenaline and excitement I felt while reading this series. Schwab’s other novels are at the top of my TBR now.
Vengeful was a thrilling sequel to Vicious. I loved the plot in Vicious more, but this novel did not disappoint. There was so much action, and I loved the climax! I didn’t want to stop reading. This book was truly addictive. I’m so ready to reread, and I just finished. I’d give anything for a third book.
I genuinely love every character in these books (yes, I’m kinda mental.) They are so intriguing, entertaining, and the darkest level of morally gray. I wouldn’t change a thing about these characters! They’re murderous, mad for power, and somehow still likable. Schwab’s characterization is on point. Also, the found family vibes are so different here, but I love it all the same.
What more can I say?! I said this in my Vicious review, and I’ll repeat it, read this book. I can’t convince you any more than this. I loved this book, every piece of me loved it, and I’ll never get over it. If you love villains, superpowers, and morally gray killers, just read it.
