Anaïs Nin: A Sea of Lies by Léonie Bischoff
4.0
I had read Anais Nin's early diaries, and some of her erotica. Apparently I didn't know everything about her, i.e. the disturbing part. This graphic novel does a good job of showing her life, which is depicted in her diaries. I don't know why the artist drew Henry Miller so ugly. Was he that weird looking? But everything was true to what I had read from her own words. I think she would have said it was a true depiction. Yes it showed her as a dancer, a writer, it showed the devotion of her husband, her affairs, her psychoanalysis. I was really enjoying this until near the end. Icky. I mean, I knew about her father issues but not everything apparently. I don't know how I feel about the book stopping at this point. Will there be a sequel?
