Only When It's Us by Chloe Liese

3.0

I’m giving this one grace because it’s the author’s first ever book.

The romance is cute for the most part.

The plot has a lot of issues. For example, one of the characters makes a huge, we’re talking GIANT, change in their life and it’s completely glossed over. I forgot it was even an issue after a few chapters, even though they didn’t make this change until 70% of the way into the book. The pacing is also off. Time jumps and whatnot.

But, I read the second book of the series first (as I was instructed to do by friends who know the series), and am pleased with that decision, as I already know the writing improves after this one.

Regardless, the book is fun and way better than what I could’ve written for a first ever book (see: blank pages in between nonexistent covers).
