A deadly competition and our main character has a magical gift they must hide?? Oh man, I eat that shit up everytime!! This was just as amazing as everyone says it is. It's much darker and deadlier than I initially thought it was going to be but I actually loved that. I thought Ikenna's anger and passion and energy were relatable but I also liked how she was hot-headed and quick to make decisions and then she had to learn how to deal with the ramifications of those snap judgements. There were themes/discussions of racism and misogyny throughout that were well placed and important. And that ending!!!! Definitely drawn out more than it needed to be but the ending was !!!!!
