I picked this up on a whim and was not disappointed. It is a thoroughly researched retelling with all the wit, humour and skill of Neil Gaiman. It pieces together some of the most famous Norse legends and brings a few less-known ones back to the limelight. It is an absolute page-turner that kept my eyes on the book for hours straight. It is a great place to start learning about Norse mythology and still very entertaining if you're an expert. It deserves every bit of praise it got and more.
