The Last Housewife by Ashley Winstead

This was excellent! I haven't really been able to get into any more serious fiction lately and can't recall how this caught my attention, but it may have broken my thriller reading slump. It had everything I wanted: complicated heroine narrator who is trying to take down a cult she escaped (and by the way wow did they borrow from stories of NXIVM and Slonim Woods 9 in interesting ways) and a true crime podcast element. Loved it and loved the narrator. I am definitely going to read the author's previous popular novel that I never got to now.
