Everything Is Beautiful by Eleanor Ray

3.0

This was another surprise novel to me, in that I bought it without knowing what it was about. The cover is twee and it's full of gushing love for the heart lifting story on the cover, so I assumed that I would loathe it but no, I actually quite liked it. Essentially it's about hoarding, a trait which I have a tendency towards if we're honest with ourselves. I'm not a big fan of the main character and I found her frustrating. I kind of get the hoarding of some of the objects but not others, for example why anyone would hoard newspapers, or cigarette lighters, when they don't smoke. Also how the whole house didn't burn down we'll never know.

I guessed what happened to the boyfriend and the best friend pretty early on in the book so I didn't really get the mystery but I wasn't bored at any point so that's a win.
