2016: My family lives near from Moose Jaw, SK, where one of the main tourist attractions is the underground tunnels. I never toured the tunnels as a child, but I did read a series of books about a girl who goes back in time to when the tunnels were originally used. Our family planned to tour the tunnels this summer, so I re-read the first two books of the series. They are definitely written for pre-teens and were, therefore, an easy read for me. That said, the stories still entertainingly piqued my interest before the tours, which was my purpose for reading them in the first place. I’d recommend them for kids who like history and adventure.
