The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore

3.0

With all the hype and claims that this is ‘Gilmore Girls-like’, how could I stay away?
I did not find any GG vibes - it does have a few things in common, like small town, New England and Fall vibes but, it didn’t remind me of the show at all.

That said, it’s cute on its own. Though the writing could be a bit stronger, as there were some continuity issues.

Set in New England.
Fall vibes.
Entrepreneur FMC - cafe owner.
Small town.
Grand gesture.
Miscommunication / assumptions trope.

This one felt like it had the ‘miscomm’ just for the sake of having a miscomm, it wasn’t actually plausible or warranted, IMO and was a bit of a drag for me.

Overall:
This was okay. I may or may not read on deeper into the series, I don’t particularly feel a need to but … I’m a mood reader, so maybe.

3 stars.
