Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

This has been on my TBR a long, long time and right on the day of the US 2024 election I decided to read it. Which turned out to be a terrible omen, and the book painted an incredibly bleak idea of a future that I could easily see happening, and in some ways already has.
The female characters could have been used a little better, but Guy's wife is a really interesting character in her own right, having completely lost herself to the screens. There's an excellent fourth wall joke which I really liked as well.
This could very easily be boiled down to "Ray Bradbury really hated televisions" but televisions are used incredibly well here, to show the ways people can consume and consume without truly considering what they're taking on board. Which, again, is something we see every day online now.
