The Burning God by R.F. Kuang
5.0
Yeees so morally grey, all over the place.
Finally, some realistic fallout due to these children not having finished training ever. A great way to end the series. Second book’s bumpiness made me paranoid that this was gonna go downhill, but it was a great end.
Also so cool to read this right after finishing shogun. Different country/issues I know, but it gave me some visuals and appreciation for certain cultural elements… like Nezha serving tea to Rin and Kitay in that final meeting. So parallel to Buntaro serving tea meticulously for Mariko in apology.
