Macbeth by William Shakespeare
4.0
I'm pretty sure I read Macbeth in high school—like so many. But I didn't remember much, if any, and I don't even know for sure if it was the full play, and not just the glorious excerpts from the Language Arts/Literature book.
It's Shakespeare. It's Macbeth. Is there more to say that hasn't been said? No.
Audiobook, as recorded by a full cast: To be honest, full cast recordings with sound effects are generally borderline cheesy to me, and this was no exception. While I was entertained by it, it lacked the charm of listening to a radio program on the wireless in the 1940s, and instead just felt like audio from a low-budget stage production. Also, I had a hard time separating all the male voices into individual men and telling them apart. Nevertheless, I did—in fact—enjoy the chance to listen to the audio of Macbeth—performed, as it was meant to be.
