“We’re as good as anybody” my mother whispers
As good as anybody.
I’m not going to give this a star rating because a memoir is deeply personal and subjective to the person’s life experiences. What I will say though is that this was a beautifully written one. I’ve never read a memoir in poem form but it was lovely, easy to understand yet still so profound and insightful. I love that some of the poems were connected as well. I could draw the dots and find the references as I went further along in the collection.
