Ambition. Bravery. Friendship.
The Little Fairleaf was a cute and exciting short fantasy story set in the same universe as the upcoming _A symphony of Shadow and Darkness_ series.

We follow an upcoming family who are ambitious and determined to get the attention of Alepion's royalty. Their plot to do this is mentioned briefly in the beginning, which I feel would have left more of an effect if only mentioned at the end. I'm sure I would have been shocked at the reveal then 😌

There are a lot of names and titles that get included, which sometimes threw me off and lost me a little bit but I did love terms like "united-one" for those who are married 🥰 The plot, the budding friendship, and the adorable mind of Eldrian more than made up for all the names!

Eldrian was by far my favourite character - inquisitive, imaginative, passionate, and brave. And he's only 5! The descriptions of his imagination were amazing and I really loved the interactions he had with the Daughter of Alepion.

I'm looking forward to diving into more of this universe. Oh, and did I mention he's a South African author? Love it! 🇿🇦
