Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
This series is truly SJM’s best work. This gave me so many feels. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a series that makes me miss the first books when I finish the last one. As I was wrapping this up, I kept thinking that I’m going to enjoy rereading it so much given how much characters develop and how much the plot thickens.
We knew at the start that dorian was gonna have a lot of power but he ends up becoming so freakin powerful. But…. Despite how much power he has… he still is there to support all the women. He is usually using his power to protect someone or helping someone else do something (like yrene with erawan).
The whole book is a great feminist perspective but without it feeling forced. All the women are in positions of power, or have some sort of ability that makes them important. That final scene with lysandra walking through an admiring crowd after she did so much to defend orynth
