I'm glad no one (myself included) spoiled the ending of this book for me because it made me audibly gasp.
This was a solid follow-up to Fireborne. Once again, I am amazed at how well-realized the characters are, even the supporting ones! Even though like in the first book I had to suspend my disbelief on a number of things, I was still invested because of all the tender character relationships. In a lot of ways, this sequel reminded me of Skyward by Brandon Sanderson.
All that said, I enjoyed this one a little less than the first book, mainly because I found the new POV somewhat dull. But it does set up some things for the finale which I am enthusiastically gearing up for.
