On rereading this book, I realized just how brilliantly it was done. Through the anticipation and incredibly tense atmosphere of the games I was thoroughly enraptured by this story. The way Suzanne Collins created even more intrigue by establishing that although the games are over, our victors are still not safe was absolutely brilliant. It created a new level of fear as well as further establishing the nature of the people in power. Collins’ worldbuilding is true genius and this book was such an enjoyable read.
Graphic: Blood, Fire/Fire injury, and Injury/Injury detail
There is an intense scene of derealization in which Katniss cannot discern what is real and what is hallucination.
