Deeply moving. Heartbreaking. Enraging. Inspiring. I don't think I've read a novel in verse since Ellen Hopkins and wow, what a contrast. McCullough can say more in a four line verse than some authors can say with an entire page. I knew early on that this would be a 5 star read.
