Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

5.0

Basically a stage adaptation of the scene in Frankenstein where the monster drowns the little girl because he doesn't know any better but done with the keen eye of a social critic who seems to have been trained to report the injustices he sees on the field. It anticipates Grapes of Wrath in a more controlled environment and, as simple as it may be as a fable, is also deserving of its reputation as a classic of American Literature.
