The Resort by Sarah Goodwin

I’ve seen her books promoted a lot on here and after I read The thirteen girl last summer, I knew I had to read this new story as well.

The resort is a story full of mystery and intriguing plot . I have never been to Bavaria but being from an eastern European country, I know how beautiful some settings are, especially in winter. The descriptions are vividly represented and the author made me feel like I was there with the characters.
Mila is planning to attend her sister’s wedding in the beautiful resort. After a rundown of events where she and Ethan gets lost and find shelter in one of the cabins overnight, he is missing the next morning and there’s no clue to his whereabouts.
The stranded was a story full of emotional moments and I loved how that book developed. If you read it, you’ll know that the author is not letting anything out when it comes to survival and fear and all the other emotions a person can go through while in danger. And that’s why I love her writing. It’s much more than I expected and a lot of this story is character driven and less about the twisted domestic thrillers some may expect.
Is the ending predictable? Maybe , it was for me because I realised early on where the story goes next but that didn’t deter me to enjoy it immensely.
I recommend this book for anyone who’s looking for a great story. It’s addictive and intriguing, it’s one of those books that you won’t want to stop reading at any point.
