Huge trigger warning for rape and sexual assault. I think this book would’ve left a different/better impact if its marketing team had known what tf it was doing with it. To call it “hilarious” is genuinely deranged. It’s “funny” in the same way Convenience Store Woman was “funny”. It is a historical fiction with hints of magical realism. It is fine and very heavy handed. But is it not a romance, it is not a comedy, and it is not reallly even a story about a woman in STEM.
