I’ve been waiting for Isaiah’s story because I knew it would be a tough read, but also great at the same time. As the lovable and funny guy of the group who always hide his real emotions, I knew there would be more depth and more emotional content to unpack with his character, especially given how him and his brother Kai suffered the unexpected loss of their mother at such a young age and practically leaves on each other to raise themselves. I love their relationship and friendship as brothers and the way they have reimagined family for themselves through the teammates they share and the others in the book.

Isaiah’s and Kennedy’s story was swoon worthy and their banter was on point. While Kennedy had her own familial trauma to contend with, it was great to see them both support each other through those difficult moments and fall in love.

I made it to the very end of the book, but the epilogue chapter with the glasses practically unraveled me into a weepy mess.
