Not what I was expecting, but a lovely little evening read. The book follows Thiago, whose wife recently died, and the events leading up to / following her death. I was expecting a haunted or suspicious Alexa-type device tormenting the couple as being the main plot—but it was much more in depth than that, and the progression of the horror was great.
This book was a reflective, humorous (but dark and spooky) reflection on Thiago’s downward spiral after Vera’s death. It gave me huge Haunting of Hill House vibes (more the show than the book, Come Home Nell!) but more introspective. Fantastic little story.
