The Takedown by Carlie Walker
4.0
The Takedown is one of those books that is a fun read that deals with some tougher topics at the same time. Our main character is an undercover spy who has to now protect her family from what is believed to be a Mafia Boss that has fallen for her younger sister. The only problem is that because of her going undercover all the time as a spy she has barely been home in the past few years making it a little more complicated when she does go home this year. With tensions being high within the family, and a whole lot of secrets, things get complicated fast, which leads to things getting messy.
Overall I loved this book and how much our main character loved her family. The family dynamic while one that could be complicated was told so well, and the fact that they could just jump back into things like they had been shows how much they cared for one another. While the Mafia boss does make things a little messy, it also makes it more interesting when it comes to the spy storyline. The ending of this book was so fun and made this book a great read for the holidays.
