This book wasn’t bad. The essence of the story is even something I could’ve really enjoyed but I didn’t have a good time reading it.
I think the story should’ve started sooner. I wanted to read this for the gods. At the start of the book, most of them are dead already. This felt very frustrating to me.
The second hitch for me was the portrayal of some of the gods. How Artemis was portrayed infuriates me. She would never have done what she did. Not even out of rage for Apollo. Her portrayal didn’t feel like her at all.
Then there is the problem I have with more books: the main character knows relevant information to the plot but we, as the reader, don’t know about it. The MC thinks about this information, but in a way so we don’t know what is going on. If you write from one POV you can’t keep such big chunks of information from the reader. If your one POV knows, we should also know.
So uh yeah, I have feelings about this book. Mainly frustration because it could’ve been so much better.
