This book is so beautifully magical and heart warming. I loved every single page. It is a story for anyone who has ever felt like they were an outsider for being different. It is a story so incredibly relevant to our time with deep thinking social commentary on racial differences and issues. It's a story about family.
I loved the characters and world building. The main protagonists are so easy to identify with making the unique struggles they go through (both for their race as well as the magical elements) very easy to take to heart. There is a special place in my heart for stories where mythological creatures walk among us in the modern era. And as a prior Ren Faire kid myself, I love that a Renaissance Faire is an important piece of the setting!
