Memento is an interesting novella that offers a fresh perspective on AIDAN, shedding light on how he became self-aware, as well as providing more insight into the attack on Kerenza and what happened on the Alexander when they decided to intervene.
It was also intriguing to see some familiar characters from The Illuminae Files reappear. Olivia was a captivating character, and her story was truly heartbreaking.
While the novella may not have been strictly necessary and didn't reveal much new information, it was still a very enjoyable and engaging read. It added another layer to the Illuminae universe and offered a deeper understanding of the events from a different point of view.
