I absolutely loved this first person story telling that swirled witchy vibes, medicine, motherhood, and being a woman all together into historical fiction.
It was fabulous and I fell in love with the history that was created in addition to the setting and the fun list of characters.
The stories we pass down about women has been so diluted and inaccurate. Many times because there wasn’t a safe place to tell the truth. I wish we knew more about the women of our past because my heart hopes it reads something like this story. And yes including all the heartbreak (that is unavoidable).
The only thing I’d change is the ending. I don’t think we really got enough closure on why Seraphina didn’t catch up with her kids or why she didn’t stalk them more often. As a mom, I know I’d stalk my kids more than Seraphina shared with us at the end.
