I re-read the first two books before I started Absolute Midnight, and although I don't feel it was necessary, I felt aware of a time gap while I was reading, I was glad I did. The biggest difference (that I am quite happy about) was that there is more of a conclusion, although it still leaves you waiting for the next book. I felt like Absolute Midnight was a little too predictable compared to the other books in the series, but that being said It was just as interesting, creative, and magical as the first two which is why it still deserves 5 stars!
