Exciting Times by Naoise Dolan

For lovers of Sally Rooney's Normal People.
I've never read a book that made me sad and laugh at the same time, that broke my heart whilst making it feel full, and that spoke a beautiful story against the background of politics, social class and feminism without being cast as soley political, socialist/classist or feminist.
I found myself loving and hating every character at different points in the book. Wit and modern intelligence are themes which run throughout, making a book with very little plot race by.
A clever writing which makes you feel like an Irish girl living in Hong Kong, lost and found all at once. Absolutely loved it.
