Love Unscripted by Tina Reber

2.0

Sometimes concept fail. We haven't colonized Mars or invented hover boards. I do not have a personal robot in my house to attend to my needs. Our world does not look like the Jetsons. Similarly, I thought Love Unscripted would be a sexy, exciting romance with celebrities and paparazzi. I really wanted this to be a story where a Ryan Gosling type actor meets an ordinary woman and falls in love. I really wanted this to be good. Sadly, that also didn't happen.

I actually did like Ryan, the love interest, but Taryn felt too Mary Sue to me. She was involved in businesses all over town, she's so nice and selfless, and let's not forget the standard trust issues these girls always have to have. Frankly, I'm over it. I think the flawed heroines are more interesting. Give a girl who messes up, who is unsure, who is fun, who is smart, who is all the things people are. The romance was okay, and I felt like the chemistry was pretty good. It was the plot that really blowed. Too much crazy drama, even for a story about a movie star and a normal person. These things do happen once a while in the real world, I assumed without the drama of Love Unscripted. There were just too many new adult cliches for this to be enjoyable. Not recommended!
