I hate giving books such low ratings but this book put me in a bad mood. I was skeptical to read this after the last Christina Lauren book and I was right to be because I didn’t particularly enjoy the story at all. For a book with a heavy science theme I didn’t feel any type of chemistry between Jess and River and I honestly just didn’t care for them.

The main character Jess made her entire personality about being a single mum, other than that she was pretty boring. River was about as interesting as cardboard. The lack of personality and depth really didn’t help with the romance elements either, I found their relationship forced and empty. And the spice also did nothing for me
