After loving the movie for many years I had to give the original book a try, especially due to the overwhelming amount of recommendation from other Gaiman fans. Despite it being an already short read, I couldn't put it down and finished it in just one day. After reading this novel I am immensely happy that I finally got around to reading it, because it wasn't anything like I expected and yet so much more amazing. With Neil's signature talent in writing children characters in terrifying situations, I felt like I was right there with Coraline; equally as terrified and trying so hard to be brave and get through to the eventual ending. Out of the many children's books that I've read this is one of my favorites thus far and I highly recommend it to any and everyone.
Graphic: Confinement and Kidnapping
Moderate: Child death
