The Butcher by Jennifer Hillier
5.0
This is the second book I have read from this author and I loved it. Normally, I love books that keep you on high suspense with anxiety throughout the book. However, this book didn't do that.
But let me tell you what I loved:
I loved the writing of Hillier. She isn't graphic or overly descriptive with hard scenes such as murder. I love that. I love how she knows how to grab your attention from the very beginning. By the end of Chapter 1, you are completely engrossed. She really gets your emotions tied up. You start routing for some characters, and then you hate them by the end.
The Butcher has different view points throughout the story: First there is Chief, who is the former chief of police for Seattle PD who rose to fame due to catching a serial killer in the 80s named the Beacon Hill Butcher. Then there is his grandson Matt who is on the rise of fame himself, for his food trucks and restaurant with authentic Filipino cooking he learned from his grandmother. And then there is Sam, Matt's girlfriend who is writing a true crime novel on the Butcher. Yes, they are clearly all connected, but you HAVE NO IDEA on all the ways they are connected.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
