A Discovery of Witches - Die Seelen der Nacht: Roman - Eine Hexe, ein Vampir, eine unendliche Liebe - der SPIEGEL-Bestseller in neuer Ausstattung - mit limitiertem Farbschnitt. by Deborah Harkness

This was fun and such a nice read, if completely different to what I expect!

I expected a book where a "normal" woman finds a magical book and learns through or from it tat she is actually a witch and not normal at all.

Instead this book stats right if the bat that Diana is a witch but one that prefers to pretend she had no magical powers. Up until the moment that she touches this highly magical book and suddenly everything changes and she has no choice but to learn to accept that there is magic in the world.

I loved that plot.

And Diana was a very interesting person to follow along. She is smart and mostly logical and tries to do the right thing while at the same time trying to do what she things is right for herself.

I loved this different spin in witches and daemons and vampires and how they are different from humans, how the are "made" and all that. Very different to the typical supernatural creatures and definelty made the story as intersting as it is beduselt if those different aspects!

The writing was great for the most part, easy to read and had a nice flow to it that made it easy to keep turning the pages.

I did think that the book was a bit too long and it took a good while for te actual story to finally move forward and go into the direction the story actually needed to go into.
I also felt that overall some parts could haven been shortened a bit without losing anything vital from the book.
I think this book could have been easy 200 pages shorter and still tell the exact same story!

Not saying the book is and as is it, just that some parts of it I had to struggle through to continue in and not Gegner bored with the constant blabbering where's nothing happened.

Still this is a nice book, and I will be continuing soon and see we're this story and the characters are going.

And I think if you love supernatural/ fantastical / witchy books this will be a good one for you!
