I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
5.0
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Audiobook. “I don’t like knowing people in the context of things. ‘Oh that’s the person I workout with. That’s the person I’m in a book club with…’ Because once the context ends, so does the friendship. I yearn to know the people I love deeply and intimately. Without context, without boxes.”
I’ve been wanting to read this book since it came out and I was not disappointed. In the beginning Jennette places the “normal life occurrences” next the narcissism so naturally which demonstrates how subtle narcissism can be to the people affected by it. It also shows how easy it is to be gas lit.
Later she takes you through her grief and recovery with such sarcasm and honesty it’s comforting.
I cant wait to re-read!
