This was a big slog. Loved the series until this book- took me multiple attempts to get through it after a couple of DNF’s. Auren’s story was boring, just reading about her going place to place with no real plot. Queen Malina I still despise despite the fact I’m sure this is book is about her character arc. 

Despite the above, it hasn’t put me off wanting to finish the series and pick up ‘Goldfinch’. Last 5 chapters is where it started to get good- that cliffhanger is *chefs kiss*.
