The Kill Factor by Ben Oliver
dark
tense
fast-paced
5.0
I love a good binge read, and I blitzed through The Kill Factor in three sessions, I had such a great time. This reminded me of The Maze Runner, and while it was a little silly in places, I dearly loved that it wasn't afraid to bump off characters left right and center.
Despite the fast pace, this book didn't fall into the trap where I had no idea who was who before they exited - I grew to know the majority of the teens picked for the games, and I started to care about a lot of them before they left, making the stakes higher.
I was surprised by one major moment towards the end, and while this wraps up well, I'm wondering if we'll ever see a sequel that may retract that moment. I would love to see the world expanded on, and I really want more time with Emerson and her little brother.
