The dynamic between August & Emery is a tender one, Emery has been through a lot of things that shaped him into who he is. It's heartbreaking once you get those pieces of him and it just sticks.
The acceptance by August had me misty eyed and smiling, he truly just accepts who Emery is and doesn't hold anything against him and he shouldn't.

There is ZERO filter here when it comes to Emery, he just says what he wants and then owns that he goes just a tad too far. Especially where August is concerned.
This book is filled with tenderness, some sprinklings of heavy but the love throughout is what gets you through to the end. August & Emery will hold onto you until the end.
